The Role
We are looking for a highly analytical and commercially aware Risk Transfer Specialist to support clients in structuring and optimising their insurance and broader risk transfer strategies.
You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders—risk teams, insurers, brokers, and legal advisers—to ensure clients maintain resilient, cost-effective, and compliant coverage across their risk profile.
This role is ideal for professionals with experience in corporate insurance, enterprise risk, or risk advisory, seeking to influence strategic decision-making and enhance clients’ financial resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on insurance and risk transfer strategies that align with risk appetite, operational exposures, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct reviews of insurance programmes, identify gaps, and analyse historical claims and loss data
- Support tender processes, broker engagement, and policy placement across a range of cover types
- Review and enhance contractual risk transfer clauses, indemnities, and liability wording
- Collaborate with legal, procurement, and operational stakeholders to assess and manage liability exposures
- Monitor insurance market trends, premium movements, and emerging coverage risks
- Maintain detailed documentation, including risk registers, policy schedules, and renewal timelines
- Advise on the use of captives, self-insurance options, and alternative risk transfer solutions
- Support incident response and coordinate insurance claims handling with brokers and underwriters
- Contribute to internal and external risk reporting and analytics
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in corporate insurance, enterprise risk, or a related risk advisory role
- Strong knowledge of insurance lines such as PI, D&O, Cyber, EL/PL, and property insurance
- Familiarity with UK regulatory expectations (e.g. FCA, Solvency II)
- Proven experience working with brokers, insurers, and cross-functional risk stakeholders
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex policy wordings and legal contracts
- Relevant qualifications such as CII, ACII, or IRM preferred
- Experience with ERM frameworks, insurance data analytics, or risk register management is advantageous
